Acrylic on canvas, 4x3', 2021.

I work at Costco and have currently been documenting the building and its occupants throughout the pandemic. I’ve been very interested in the repetition present in the architecture and the liminal space workers and consumers pass through, and how these factors sometimes subconsciously influence the direction people are supposed to go. It’s been interesting also observing people using shopping or grocery shopping as a way of socializing or being around people at a time when large groups are usually bad. This body of work explores seeing a space for what it’s actually being used for, or what it could be used for, instead of the intended.
